Hills & Dales General Hospital is excited to share they have earned a 5 Star patient experience rating from CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services). CMS released new patient experience star ratings on July 31 for 3,478 hospitals nationwide, giving only 266 hospitals a rating of five stars. Hills & Dales General Hospital is one of the 266 hospitals in the nation who earned a 5-star rating.
Ratings are derived from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which is administered to a random sample of adult patients across all types of medical conditions between 48 hours and six weeks post-discharge. Surveys are not restricted to Medicare beneficiaries. To receive a rating, hospitals must have received at least 100 completed HCAHPS surveys over a given four-quarter period and be eligible for public reporting of the measures. This patient experience star rating is based on the HCAPS scores collected from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2019.
Jean Anthony, President & CEO, says, “This designation is really special for us. We know that our staff provide exceptional patient care. To see CMS and our patients recognize this truly brings it full circle for our employees. Healthcare can be challenging, and this rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. I congratulate every employee here at Hills & Dales.”
